Autumn 2023 Vaccinations - flu and COVID-19
We’re currently planning for our annual flu vaccinations clinics, which this year will be offered alongside Covid booster jabs to all eligible patients.
If you are in one of the groups eligible for one or both of the vaccines, you will receive an invite from us – if we have a mobile number for you, we will text you a link to allow you to book your appointment yourself, and if we don’t, you’ll receive a letter from us inviting you to call in to book.
We have now begun to send out the text invitations so please watch out for it on your mobile phone - we started sending texts on Thursday 14th September and the process will continue in the immediate following days.
YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO BOOK YOUR APPOINTMENT BY SIMPLY CLICKING ON THE LINK WITHIN THE TEXT THAT WE SEND TO YOUR MOBILE PHONE.
We ask that if you can book your appointment online via your text that you do so - we are trying to reduce the number of phone calls we are getting in regarding booking vaccine appointments. If you cannot book online then please call us on a Tuesday, Thursday or Friday between 3-4pm and select option 1 from the main menu and then option 4 - if you call outside of these times we will not be able to help you. We may also restrict our lines if we get a high number of phone calls.
Our vaccinations will take place at the Langford Medical Practice surgery. This is found at 9, Nightingale Place, Langford Village, Bicester OX26 6XX.
If you do not wish to receive your flu vaccine, but wish to have a covid vaccine, you can only receive this by booking your vaccine through the National Booking System and your covid jab will then take place at somewhere other than our surgery.
For those only eligible for a flu vaccine/ wishing only to receive a flu vaccine, we will be running ‘FLU ONLY’ clinics.
The eligible cohorts for Seasonal Flu vaccination and COVID-19 vaccination are similar, but they are NOT identical.
