THE NHS COVID PASS SERVICE

People in England who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 can demonstrate their vaccination status for international travel by using a NHS COVID Pass that can be supplied in the form of a letter,  if necessary.

Your vaccination status can already be easily seen on the NHS app if you use this method and this may be sufficient for your needs in some circumstances but you should check carefully for the rules regarding your destination. To apply for the COVID Pass letter you must use the online NHS COVID Pass service or call the service on 119.

Please don't contact your GP surgery about Covid Pass letters.

This practice is NOT able to provide you with a letter that shows your COVID-19 vaccination status. Please do not contact the surgery about your COVID-19 vaccination status unless you have been advised to do so by the 119 service.

When you're planning your travel, you should check all the latest information on demonstrating your COVID-19 status when travelling abroad on the gov.uk website. Make sure there is enough time to get proof of your COVID-19 vaccination status before you are due to travel.

Additional information issued in April 2022 regarding children:

Children aged 5 to 11 years can now obtain an NHS COVID Pass letter for international travel

Children aged 5 to 11 years living in England, Wales or the Isle of Man who have had a full primary course of COVID-19 vaccination can now get an NHS COVID Pass letter for travel.

A person with legal responsibility for the child can request the letter on their behalf either online at nhs.uk or by calling the 119 service. The letter is NOT available via GP practices so please do not contact us about this.

The letter is posted to the address on the child’s NHS record and will show all the COVID-19 vaccinations they have received. Further details can be found on the GOV.UK guidance pages.
