If you need to contact a doctor in an emergency outside surgery hours:
- Out of Hours telephone: 111
It is important that patients use these services appropriately and call the doctor only for problems that cannot wait until the next surgery.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
Attending A&E
Examples of when it is right and appropriate to attend A&E without delay are:
- Major injuries such as injuries from road traffic accidents.
- Falls from a considerable height.
- Major Head injuries.
- Collapse.
- Severe breathing difficulty.
- Severe chest pain.
- Severe haemorrhage.
- Poisoning.
- Extensive burns
