Prescriptions

Ordering a repeat prescription

  • Please allow us 72 hours (three working days), to process your prescription request.
  • We do not accept repeat prescription requests over the phone.
  • Please submit medication requests at least 1 week before you run out.
  • Early requests may not be processed unless you notify the dispensary of reasons like holidays.

When you order a prescription online, you can have it sent electronically to a pharmacy of your choice. This is called a nomination.

Order via our dispensary

Our Dispensary is located at Victoria House Surgery. See when we are open.

We will process your request as usual, and the dispenser will contact you if needed; we typically don’t reply if there’s no query. We dispense prescriptions for patients living more than one mile from the nearest pharmacy. If you reside in a rural area and wish to use our dispensing service, please contact the dispensary for more information.

To request medication, you can now use our online form. We can accept payment for medication by card only. No cash or cheques please.

Order by post

Please do not leave any paper repeat prescription requests at our Langford Surgery, these will be rejected.

You can drop your paper repeat prescription requests into the Victoria House Surgery white postbox. This is found on the wall opposite our main door at the surgery in Buckingham Road, Bicester, OX26 3EU.

If you're unable to collect your prescription from the surgery, please include a stamped, addressed envelope for return by post. Please allow at least seven days if requesting your medication by post.

Medication reviews

As part of good clinical practice, repeat prescriptions are reviewed regularly by your doctor, who may insist on seeing you before issuing a repeat prescription, so at these times the process may take a little longer. Please ensure that you re-order in good time to avoid running out of your medication.

Antibiotic prescribing

We prescribe antibiotics only when necessary, as many conditions like sore throats, earaches, and coughs are viral and won’t respond to them. These issues typically resolve with time and symptomatic treatment. If symptoms persist, we are happy to review your case.

What to do with old medicines

Take it to the pharmacy you got it from or bring it in to the surgery. Do not put it in your household bin or flush it down the toilet.
