Travel Information

Travel vaccinations

To get travel vaccinations, make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your itinerary and necessary vaccines. Please complete our online travel form.

The practice nurses use these forms to advise you on necessary travel advice, including immunisations or medications you may need. It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 8 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.

When you have completed and submitted the Pre-Travel Questionnaire (or you have filled the form in at the Practice), the Practice will contact you to make an appointment. If you have not received a message from the Practice Nurse regarding your travel assessment (within 7 to 10 days after returning your Questionnaire), please contact the surgery.

Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.

Yellow fever vaccination

If you require a Yellow Fever vaccination, you can have it at our Practice as we are a Registered Yellow Fever Vaccination center. Please ensure you fill in our Pre-Travel Questionnaire, and our nurse team will confirm with you whether you need it or not.
