eConsult - GP online system
eConsult allows NHS GP practices to provide online routine appointments, enabling patients to submit symptoms or requests electronically. It offers 24/7 self-help information, service signposting, and a symptom checker. Developed by NHS GPs, eConsult is the most widely used digital triage tool in primary care, aimed at enhancing patient access and improving practice efficiency.
eConsult is open from 8am to 6:30pm, Monday to Friday. eConsult will be closed on weekends and bank holidays.

How to make a request?
Please do not use our eConsult for medication requests. If you have a medication request, please see our prescription page for details.
- When prompted, select yes if you are a patient registered at Langford Medical Practice. It doesn't matter whether you use the Langford surgery or the Victoria House / Minerva sites; we are one practice under Alchester Medical Group. The Langford address is displayed because it is our registered main site.
- Please only select the most appropriate eConsult for your condition - don't choose one condition and then state you have a different one.
- The eConsult form asks if you're okay with any GP addressing your issue. This question comes from the eConsult software, not the surgery, and we can't modify it to fit our practice protocols.
- After submitting an eConsult, you’ll receive an automated response with a time frame for a reply. This message comes from the software, not the surgery, so please ignore it. You will get another message from the surgery regarding the actions we’re taking to process your eConsult.
Can I share photos using eConsult?
Yes, if your issue is about a rash or other skin problems, we will ask you to provide a photo when submitting your eConsult enquiry.
Making a contraceptive pill request
Please only use eConsult for repeat request only.
For a contraceptive pill request, please be aware that you will need to include a current blood pressure reading and your weight. If you do not provide either of these, your request will be rejected and will likely cause a delay in your prescription being issued. If you are unable to submit either a BP reading and/or your weight, please call the surgery to make an appointment for a pill check.
Once submitted, your request will be passed on to a clinician and will be actioned within 5 working days.

Making a HRT medication review request
If you are due a HRT medication review or just need to request a repeat of your HRT medication, please complete an eConsult via the link.
Once submitted you will receive an automated response advising you will be contacted within 72 hours - please disregard this.
You will be sent a text message from our Patient Coordinator team advising you that your request has been sent to the GP for review. As above, please be aware that you will need to include a current blood pressure reading and your weight. If you do not provide either of these your request will be rejected.
