Book an appointment

Please note that the surgery does not offer walk-in services. You must make an appointment, even for urgent issues. Appointment hours are as follows:

  • Langford Medical Practice: Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm
  • Victoria House: Monday to Friday, 8am to 6:30pm

Both locations are closed for lunch from 1pm to 2pm. During this time, phone calls are not taken, but you can call our emergency-only number, 01869 356625.

Urgent appointments

If your issue is medically urgent, please call the team from 8am, Monday to Friday. The earlier you can call, the better.

The team will ask questions and add you to the duty GP list. The duty GP will assess urgent requests; if your request isn’t urgent, you’ll be given a routine appointment.

Our Patient Co-ordinator will gather details about your issue and direct you to the appropriate person for help, whether that's a GP, an Emergency Care Practitioner, or community pharmacists. Providing as much information as possible is crucial, as it helps the doctor prioritize your case. The GP will conduct a phone assessment and will only request an in-person visit if necessary.

Extended Access

We also have extended access available. See our Out of Hours information.

Book a routine appointment

All routine appointments are now pre-booked in 10-minute time slots, either face-to-face or via telephone, based on clinical need.

If you have multiple issues, you may need to book an additional appointment for anything not safely addressed within the 10-minutes. Appointments will be scheduled with your named GP for continuity.

Sickness certificates (fit notes)

You must give your employer a doctor's 'fit note' (sometimes called a 'sick note') if you've been ill for more than 7 days in a row and have taken sick leave. This includes non-working days, such as weekends and bank holidays.

Home visits

We encourage patients to visit the surgery for proper equipment and facilities. If you need a home visit, please call reception early in the day.

Home visits are for those who are housebound or too ill to come in. The GP will assess whether a visit is necessary and how urgent it is, so please provide relevant details. Community nurses can visit if referred by your GP, and health visitors can see you at home if you've recently had a baby or have a child under five and are newly registered.

Change or cancel an appointment

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason, please inform us as soon as possible.

Late for your appointment?

Due to an increase in late check-ins and incorrect site arrivals, we are implementing the following policy:

  • If you check in more than 5 minutes late, you will need to rebook your appointment, as this means you've missed 50% of your 10-minute slot.
  • If you arrive at the wrong site and don’t have enough time (at least 10 minutes) to travel to the correct location before your appointment, you will also need to rebook.

Please plan accordingly.

Text message reminders

If you wish to register for this messaging service, please fill out the consent form.

Choice of Doctor

We encourage you to see one registered doctor, especially for ongoing medical conditions or necessary follow-ups, as seeing multiple doctors for the same issue can delay diagnosis and treatment.
